Stormy, Challenging Chicago Mackinac Race

This year’s 289.0nm Chicago Mackinac Race saw the fleet start in light to medium southeasterly winds and bright sunshine. By 2:00 pm, all boats were on their way north up to Mackinac Island. The 170th NYYC Annual Regatta took place over the June 14th to 16th weekend on the waters of Narragansett Bay and Rhode Island Sound. The regatta format features the popular Round Island Race on Friday (a 21.0nm circumnavigation of Conanicut Island) and then two days of either round-the-buoys racing or PHRF navigational racing.
